How to care for water hyacinth
Water hyacinth is a popular plant in rural Việt Nam. It easily grows on water and floats where the water runs and has flowers through four seasons. Even in flood season, when floods rise with the reddish colour of alluvium, the plant stays green and violet flowers sprout. The plant had been considered useless, even harmful to environment as it prevents water flow and is an obstacle for water traffic. The handicraft has brought steady income to people and helped keep rivers clean.
Maintenance tips:
Preventative maintenance is the key to keeping your furniture looking like new. We introduce some tips to do it.
- The place putting it should be a dry place. Although the raw materials is an aquatic plant, it was dried in the production process, so contact with the wet in for a while is not good for the product.
- Don’t wash the product. Like we mentioned, these products were dried, so washing will make it be damaged.
- To clean it, we should use the dry cloth. While washing could harm it, using dry cloth could clean softly without any impairment.
