Using heritage techniques
Our products are woven in the traditional village in the North of Vietnam by Skilled Artisans who have known their craft and skills for 20 years.
Tonkin Handicraft refers to traditional handicraft products originating from the Tonkin region of Vietnam. Tonkin, also known as Đông Kinh in Vietnamese, was a historical region that encompassed parts of present-day northern Vietnam. The region has a rich cultural heritage and is known for its skilled artisans who create a wide variety of handicrafts.
Tonkin handicrafts often showcase intricate craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for traditional techniques. These handicrafts include items such as seagrass, lacquerware, bamboo, mother of pearl, horn and rattan products, embroidery, pottery, wood carving, seagrass weaving, and traditional textiles.
We are highly valued for their artistic value, cultural significance, and the preservation of traditional craftsmanship. They are not only decorative but also functional, often reflecting the local traditions and customs of the region. These handicrafts are admired for their beauty, craftsmanship, and ability to represent the cultural heritage of Tonkin and Vietnam as a whole.
We are a fair trade shop featuring artisan-made products. Our collection of homeware and decoration is made from friendly-environment materials. They are inspired by natural forms, simplicity and traditional craft from Northern Vietnam.
Falling in love with handicrafts, we are dedicated to bringing handicraft products that are designed carefully to serve the habits and needs of the customers. Every order makes a positive impact on the lives of artisans and producers in underserved communities in Vietnam.
